A Corsair K95 RGB Platinum keyboard was brought in for repair after developing intermittent double-typing/chattering issues on several keys. The owner wanted to replace the original Cherry MX Brown switches with something slightly more tactile while retaining the keyboard's existing layout and functionality.
The keyboard was fitted with Gateron Chocolate Jelly switches, with the replacement ultimately covering all 110 switches, including the macro keys. During the repair, a broken left Shift stabilizer was also repaired, and the keyboard received basic cleaning and inspection of its media controls.
There was an additional compatibility issue because the Gateron switches were 5-pin while the Corsair PCB was designed for 3-pin switches. The extra pins were carefully modified/removed so the switches could be installed correctly.
After completion, the keyboard was fully tested, with photos and videos provided during the process. The keyboard was then shipped back with a 6-month repair warranty.
